The Bindle Bobby Pin |
This super cute "Bindle Bobby Pin" was inspired by my husband's sister Krista and a few bobby pins she had bought for her daughter. A few bobby pins, some fabric scraps, batting, beads and plastic thread, I had made myself, the self named, Bindle Bobby Pin. I love them because they are so simple and easy to make but are so cute and add color and sparkle to your hair! Follow along with my tutorial:
I wanted to put together a tutorial so you could make the bindle bobby pins at home, you probably have most, if not all, of the materials at home:
scrap fabric cut to just a little bit larger than a quarter
scrap batting or pillow stuffing
needle and monofilament
sea beads
bobby pins
scissors
Tie a knot at one end of the monofilament and thread it through the needle. Thread the monofilament the entire length of the edge of the fabric circle:
Then stuff the batting/fill in the fabric circle and pull the monofilament until the fabric collects around the batting and makes a little ball or bindle (you want some stuffing to stick out to give it a whimsical feel):
After I have all the beads sewed on I attach the bindle to the bobby pin by running the monofilament around the bobby pin and through the bindle until secure:
Then I knot the monofilament and hide the end in the bindle! Tah-da! You are done, aren't they SO easy!!
Please share any you have made; I would love to see pics of your work! Always, let me know if you have any questions or something isn't clear, this is my first tutorial!!!
If you aren't feeling up to making them yourself you can find them here!
Happy Crafting!!
